Bakeapple Yogourt I've never had a liking for bakeapples - probably due to an olfactorily unfortunate visit with Aunt (M?) and Uncle Clyde in Lumsden when I was around eight. Auntie was making bakeapple jam, and the smell of it drove me retching out onto the bridge for the entire visit. My other memory of that trip was being astonished at Uncle's accent - I had heard Newfoundland accents before, but his was entirely unintelligible to me. It's probably just as well I don't like bakeapples, due to their ridiculous cost justified by the difficulty of picking them. Recently, though, we've discovered Good Natured Yogurt, a dairy in Stephenville making yogourt for the Newfoundland population, and we're happy to support them. We've had several 750-ml tubs in various flavours and enjoyed them, so Bob thought he'd try the one-serving sizes in bakeapple and raspberry flavour. The rasberry was fine, if a bit seedy as you'd expect, but the bakeapple, while not tasting nearly as bad as the smell in my memory, was just full of very hard seeds the size of tomato seeds. Raspberry seeds are small and soft enough to consume along with the fruit, but not these: they were an impediment. I counted the seeds I had to take out of my mouth, and there were over thirty in a 115g container. I pity Auntie who would have had to strain her jam.
